Description

This is the reenactment of the manfield, Louisiana battle. some call it a diff name but it in that area. The south did win this battle. I read about the cajans in the war and they would march all day and took out they music stuff and dance halve the night. most of the Louisiana army forces was sent out of state so when the war got to Louisiana they did not have the manpower to fight the North. They say the cajuns was change forever after the war. If you not too sure what the battle was in Manfields or what a cajun is just look it up on google. I tell you one thing we cajun talk diff by putting verbs in the wrong places or just use vergs in a sentence like "Come see" that all we say in the sentence. Plus we known to eat anything and we love spices and hot red peppers too. "You come and see now ; I show you a good time here"[can not dance thought, never learned how; but you can if you want too. Bet you wish to dance with those Southern Bells YAHOO[that was a indian tribe here in Louisiana; now that no joke; look it up on google] we rich in history

Yeah, Jock, you guys did win a couple of the battles...LOL. Just being good-natured here since I'm a Northerner. Now don't get mad at me!!! They do a re-enactment up here every year at Gettysburg National Battle Field similar to this. Everyone dresses in their authentic Civil War Era clothes....North & South. Quite a sight to behold and time very well spent.

Yeah, you had to have something to loosen up after all that warring. The Civil War was very sad though. It had family members fighting one another. Great pic Jock! (:

I used to watch a cajan cooking show on pds and the chef was cajan through and through. He was such a cute old guy and loved to tell stories. This is a wonderful scene

And jokes. I had a friend who told Leroy jokes and I'd laugh until I got a stomach ache. Interesting and colorful shot, Jock.

OMG, where did the cajuns get the energy to dance the night away after marching all day? Super cool capture of the Southern Belles, who apparently have to go on a strict diet. The skirts look like parachutes. From the movies I've seen I always thought the belles were lithe, slim chicks. Vividly colored outfits, though.

It's great to see so many entering into the spirit of re-enactments, if I was fitter I would love to join in myself. When Alan and I went to the 1940's one there was an American soldier who kept hiding his camera under his tunic, just incase anybody took his photo, but others were holding plastic bottles and paper cups. Lol. Excellent capture Jocko, love those dresses they are wearing. Bravo!!!!!
