My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

How thoughtful of them! And if there is a 12-step program I advise you to just say no! Please, for our sake! Your pots and glass are marvelous, and I know it isn't just me who would miss them... This is very eye-catching and beautiful!

Interesting POV. The reflections in the pottery really add punch to the image. Well done.
MrsLubner
Awesome composition. The reflections and the non-reflective surface really complement each other so well.

I always love when you visit nurseries, then a pot series begin...cool. This is an amazing close up just show enough to get on the imagination ride. Wonderful green colors and deeper cracks.

I think they have a nursery for us when we get older. They'll sit us on our chairs in front of a conveyor belt with an endless stream of objects passing by for us to photograph. I think it's called Room 101. For you it will be glass and pottery! LOL!

You do pots incredibly well...and this is a doozie. I love every bit of this, especially the reflections of ambient light. It's nicely filtered and not so overpowering and glaring, it softens the focus a bit, but keeps your eye on the other details as well. The crackly glaze works perfectly, and the colors are great. In short, I like this a lot. And I don't really know why, but the shinier, darker pot reminds me of one of those antique insulators that my grandmother had in her house...the kind that went up on telephone poles. The shape is not similar at all, but I think it's the green...like an insulator had fallen off and has moss growing on it. I like that.

Well seen, the cracked glaze adds to the overall effect, I'm still trying to see what the reflection is.

Life flows on and on... I stop: A pot! I must look! Life flows on and on... Ok it wasn't the best haiku in the world (!) but at least I got the 'pot' thing. Where would our art be without obsessions? Pots call you: You can't say no. I have to tell you, the life in that pot, along with the light & only partly revealed surface of the background pot, is just the kind of image I would go crazy with in PS. It calls out for 40 different versions, because the life in these surfaces is both rich & ambiguous. The front one is ambiguous enough that we don't know if all that life is "in" the pot or reflected 'on' it: And we don't have to know: That's the magic of these rich surfaces. Nice composition because the back one is much larger but not as intense, so it looms without taking the piece over. I have no doubt why you were attracted to this. Your closeups of the little revelations in nurseries and stores are wonderful.
