UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Bill, we need to know what changes in settings: or had you set everything to automatic? I bet the ISO came down in the daylight shot. Love to see experiments and their results.

Head slap. Thanks Dick (drace68). Of course when you do a collage your camera data doesn't get automatically posted. I do not use automatic settings...I have vowed to go with manual settings to force myself to learn how to be completely in charge of my results...good, bad or otherwise. I'll have to go back and look at each photo using my PS Bridge. I'll add a note to my comments below the collage when I've got the data. THANKS FOR ASKING:-)

Oh no, it wasn't an idle request at all! I really did want to see the difference. This is exactly what I had in mind. I knew that since you had taken the original shot from your porch, it wouldn't be any trouble at all to get the other two shots (not like ... Oh! Would you go back to Egypt and take one more just like the other one?) and I was just itching to see these other two pics! I'm going to apologise in advance for saying ... the difference is like ... well, it's like night and day! teeheehee! (I couldn't help it - really.) Thank you, my dear!

Very interesting, thankyou. You don't have much light though.

Great experiment!

Come on, Tara couldn't have been serious in this request. You had to stay awake for 24-hours straight for these captures. Nevertheless, fine sequence of shots depicting day versus night in this collage, Bill!
Hendesse
Excellent collage. The night shots look really fantastic.

lol, marilyn & tara. Well I would say, go back to Egypt and get that shot! But I'm glad Tara asked for this, because it's just what makes these galleries great—that people share bits & pieces of their life. (If only I had a camera...not that I could photograph anywhere near the way you do, bill...) Well it's really nice to see this in its variations from normal life. And whoo, your middle pic is worthy of an upload by itself: very nice capture of the gentle sweep of grass, of the massing of shadow, and of a beautiful ethereal light—it's beautiful. That light is beautiful. I don't know anything about the camera specs (hey, I'm from 2D, the gallery over in the basement by the boiler room!), but whatever you're using, you know how to guide it with your inner eye. A really nice pic and upload. Thanks for sharing this with us.

What a difference a day makes.Great collage, always interesting to see these sequence pieces. I'm slowly moving away from auto settings but for the few photo's I take it's usually easier.Still,as long as so many here are posting such inspirational work, I'll keep trying.

Wonderful idea, Bill, and very interesting to see the difference! Unique idea, well captured and a great set of shot, Bill!!
