Description

This is my son's dog, Barger. He's a Pit Bull mix, and before you send out the authorities, know that he's the sweetest, best natured dog I've ever known. He was rescued from a sack full of puppies someone had tried to drown in the river; Jordan and friends heard little squeaks in the bushes and there they were. Six of them, 3 dead. He came home with him that night; Barger was about 3 weeks old. Ironically enough, given his history, he LOVES the water. This is on the Merced, just this past Monday, in the morning before our river trip**. Oh, I also spent 2 days at my sister's, and Barger's best friend there? My two year old great nephew!! And did I mention I take care of Barge during the summer when Jordan works the river? He (Barge, that is!!) is on "his" couch this very moment!! **fun in the sun

Thank goodness for punctuation, when I read the narrative i thought they were found by the river Jordan, lol, excuse my ignorance maz, but you know me and my dyslexia :)...I am sure he is a sweet dog, but then having said that, they are ALL, sweet dogs, it's the owners that make dangerous ones!

Oh, how fantastic! He reminds me a bit of Blondie, the other half of the security team at the yard where my father keeps his fleet of dubiously-maintained moving trucks. Actually I just call the dog Blondie, he doesn't actually have a name, but he's blond, often wet, and though he's the second member of the security team there, he commits more hamburger- and taco-thefts than anyone I know. But enoug of that, this is a great photo, and I love the contented "I'm-all-wet-and-happy" expression on his face.

I've had big dogs all my life and none of them were ever vicious. I've always given them heaps of love and affection, and NONE of them ever turned out vicious. I mean if I were chained up in a yard all day or made to fight etc I would be vicious too!

Wow, the colors in this are explosive! It's a burst of waves & hues and joy. Barge must be having a great time in the water. (Did Jordan call him Barger after the word "Barge", as in a river barge? Just curious...) And lol at ronnie's remark, the River Jordan. (That would be biblical.) An exuberant shot, really bursting and a great story too.

Marilyn my heart sank to read how cruel someone was to dump those poor pups in a sack leaving them to die a terrible death as they thought, it really makes me feel sick with sorrow, such wicked people!!!!! Thank goodness Jordan found Barger and hey what a gorgeous and lovely natured dog he turned out to be, much credit to Jordan for saving his life and bringing up a remarkable dog. Thanks for sharing his picture with us, hugs Jane xx
