This photo is meant as hors d'oeuvre to wet your appetite for close-up, detailed coverage to come in the next couple of weeks.
Several famous profiles here. This photo was taken in the Combat Air Museum at Forbes Field in Topeka, Kansas on Sunday, June 14, 2009.
Beginning with the airplane with the big 4315 on the nose and moving counter-clockwise, we have:
1. A MiG 21 in Czechoslovakian markings
2. Rob (debbielove) photographing something cool
3. A McDonell Douglas F-4D-29-MC, Phantom II
4. A Harvard Mark IV (AT-6 Texan) in Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) markings
5. Bits and pieces of an F-84F Thunderstreak in brilliant red and white 1950s USAF markings
6. And a mystery bird in blue for all you aviation enthusiasts to identify if you can:-)
This is only five of more than 400 we photographed, climbed around and gawked at like kids in a candy shop!!! ...did this 3-14 June at stops in Illinois, Ohio and Kansas.
