Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

great shot

It looks so 'other'! It could be made of furry blanket fabric almost, extraordinary!

Wave upon wave. There are times I could sit there and watch for hours...assuming I had a snack or two nearby:)

Years ago when I used film SLR's, I have a yallow and violet slpit filter, this shot reminded me of the effect it used to give, nice serene shot maz.

Don't know how large those boulders are, but that wave coming in looks to be at least 15 feet in height. What a stellar effect you have captured.

That's very dramatic, excellent capture of the forces of nature in action!

great to see the comments in your gallery, some are exhilarated by this, others are called to rest or meditation. I guess I feel both. And Andrea saw a big furry blanket—yes—and to me it's also a macro of a slice of blueberry pie! It's edible, I swear...Amazing to see the yellow atop all that cavernous purple...Great capture, and I definitely wouldn't be able to rest through this—I'd be wide awake! "Crash" is the right title.

I have the theme to Hawaii Five-O in my head now. I think it's the crashing wave. At any rate, this is a fantastic shot and I love the details you captured, Lake Michigan has nice waves, but none so impressive unless the weather has just gone to borderline lethal. Great shot here, and I can definitely imagine myself sitting there--probably with Pavl, listening to him mutter stunned exclamations in Czech. He's never seen the ocean, or anything even remotely the size of the Great Lakes even. Great shot, full of wonderful, rich details and colors!
