Description

The Merced flows clear and cold; it's fed by snowmelt. I sat there with my feet in the water, and just watched it flow by. It IS this clear, and there are so many colors, it's hard to believe. Saw a couple of tasty looking fish as well, but I left them alone.

This is just stunning; I love the lines and movement, and the whole abstract quality of it...well done!

This water looks so cold my arches are aching just sitting here. What a great shot. The colors are so vivid.

Tasty fish are always a good thing, and I won't begin to tell you how much catfish I've eaten since I've been back in catfish country! But anyway...onto the art! WOW. I love the way this resembles an impressionist painting, if the Impressionists did abstract stuff! This is superb, brilliantly seen and presented, and what really grabs me is the way the water ripples play through the entire piece! Wow! This is great!

Your photo capture is quite an abstract look at the water. Very creative idea.

Good abstract as honey says, this to me is of particular interest, it's like a flame fractal image, nice one maz.

Love what the reflected light does to the water. Awesome colors and the texture of the ripples of the moving water. Dana

Sumptuous and braveā€”and I mean brave as a photo, you just jumped in to the shot, didn't care about horizon, earth or sky, you just leapt in "in medias res," in the middle of things, and gave us a big eye-popping abstract. And apparently I'm not the only one who sees the Impressionists in this: It really does radiate with monet's late paintings. (Lol Andrea, "Monet eat your heart out!") It's sumptuous Marilyn, and the fact that you didn't give us anything but water shows that you're seeing with highly vital and utterly focussed eyes. When I first saw it, I thought "oh! Marilyn's painting now!" It's a beautiful shot, undulant and bursting in deep amber yellows. Zowie! Between this and Hawaii, your camera's probably on sedatives right now... (Here are two links to Monet's water lilies. I know you've seen them, but they're great for comparison. Hope these open! here and here. Click the last one twice: It'll give you the close up. Bad prints, but you get the similarity: atomic power in simple water & light...)
