Thought you might enjoy seeing the latest addition to my rock garden.
Since it has a birdhouse theme, we decided to build a giant one, and started with the main house then kept adding little houses and even a tall chimney like house. Then set it atop a funky tree trunk. It sits on a little rocky hill in the front so it can welcome visitors and birds, and also be viewed from the house.
The birdhouse has a planter around the base and I planted living flowers inside of it, but I also painted all kinds of flowers growing out of it, so that when the real flowers die in the winter, the painted ones will continued to bloom.
A raccoon broke the branch the bird feeder was on and so I had to put in something sturdier. Isn't that the way of life ... if our stuff gets knocked down we just have to build it back up, even stronger.

I'm posting this picture today as a tribute to my dear friend, Bella, as a part of the "Circle Of Light" others are posting. Bella recently left Renderosity but her shining light and spirit remains with those she touched with her images, story, and music. My tribute is a kind of "Cycle Of Life", representing the beauty of nature, thriving through all the seasons, and surviving things that knock us down. If we are strong, like Bella, we rebuild, and if we are lucky, we find beautiful and welcoming places and people.
