Description

Chicago's tallest buildings, minus the Sears Tower, are seen in this photo of the area to my northeast [between my previous two photos to the North and to the East]. The two tallest buildings seen here are the Trump International Hotel and Tower (right) and the John Hancock Center (left). The Trump Hotel and Tower was just completed in 2009 and at 1,362 ft (415 m), is the second tallest in the city and in the Western hemisphere. By way of comparison, the Sears Tower is 1,451 ft (442 m) in height. For those of you who know Donald Trump by reputation...can you believe he settled for building the second tallest building in the city? If you would like to know more about Chicago's tall buildings, here is an excellent, illustrated listing: List of Tallest Buildings in Chicago Hope you aren't getting tired of these scenes from the top...I've got another 3 or 4 worthy scenes. Thanks for stopping by and all your continued support for sites from our grand tour:-) Bill:) Previous View from the 99th Floor shots: ZOOM for the majesty of it all:) North East

Amazing sight! I can't help but think about all those folk trapped in horrid offices high up and alienated from their roots in the forest or on the plains.

It is a gem of a city, and for those here that haven't been able to visit, you are doing an excellent job of fully portraying its beauty. Awesome view!

I'm getting dizzy, another great shot Bill. Will these stitch into a panorama when all posted? that would be amazing. Do they still include roof masts in height calculations for buildings?, always seemed a bit of a cheat to me!.

Awesome! The Chicago Chamber of Commerce must be drooling with envy over these fabulous shots of their fair city. The clarity and textures showing the individual windows, rooftops and buildings is beyond fantastic, Bill! And, Donald Trump also owns the golf course that featured the beautiful antique and classic automobile show that I posted pictures of from last September and months that followed.

I'm not bored yet ... bring on the rest of 'em! I like Neil's idea of a pano. Would that work?? That would be very cool.
