Description
Another grungelet! A simple photo of a glass, "grunged"---ie, 2 layers added & messed with mercilessly. I'm caught-up with half my comments & hope to get to all of you by the weekend!

OH Yes, and I see the glass in the globes. They look fabulous like in a dream. :-)

Mark you did such a magnificent job in bringing a grunge feel to the glass images here. Your touches vary so much from the first to the last one and really make each one stand out. In the first one I feel a soft and almost haunting feel as one would get while staring at the moon. The second has such a vibrance about it and is almost bursting to explode at any moment. While the 3rd has such a peaceful feel with a center that is strong.

love those textures, mark.

Not grungelike at all! Most of what I've seen elsewhere has reduced the vibrance, not so with yours! (I prefer my pics not seen through dirty windows.) Very beautiful indeed.

I second Andrea's comments. I am enjoying working with layers more than ever but aimed at keeping the result bright and uplifting.

I don't think grunge is the right term for this, it's way too beautiful...it's more like texture enhancement! Wonderful work, Mark!

I just grunged my first image last night (TY, Tara!!)--and it's really fun stuff. I like the way you've used it here and agree with Andrea as well. The last one, though, makes me think I need new glasses!! Beautiful images, all!!!

Lovely grungelized creation,Mark!Looks like some kind of bacteria or virus.

"Ethereal grunge", I think...

Analogy: like looking through a telescope at a far off planet, enveloped in clouds of methane and sulphuric acid and all that good stuff. Galileo would be thrilled. Anyway, as a novice myself, I won't engage in this conjectured conversation about what grunge is and/or isn't. All I can say is, another splendid concept, Mark!

I see this as a transition to an abstraction althought i must say they are alive each one in its own with their own bright, soft and strong colours in an universe of fluid that is growing and growing to an inner explosion at the bottom.And... as i see the "calice"...CHEERS,Mark!Brilliant work!

I love the first two, not grunged at all to my eyes, but jeweled. It's the colors that make it glow and shine. I instantly loved the first two .. the more I look at the last one, the more I like it. The softness around the outside edge is soft .. mercurial .. I think I like it best after all.

I love these. They do look like jewels, or the ending to Stanley Kubrick's 2001, only without the French Provincial bedroom. I really like the way you do multiple takes of one thing, making something completely different each time.

The subtle variations hook the eye and force the attention. Exquisite!
