Description

Wacomb tablet and Photoshop At this phase the cross has been painted, as well as the spear and sword and a bit of work has been done in the foreground. As said the last time, I had started on the soldiers face and was fighting with it and then remembered Vintorix's words about image size etc. so I doubled the size and that helped, however I lost the gesture and mood of the working drawing, So Scrap the face and start over... I'm so glad I did ( the size was doubled again for the face)! For the sword I went one layer under it and created a new layer, then using the rectangular marquee tool I made a box slightly bigger than the sword drawing and filled it with white, then returnined to the sword layer and painted it... next I deleted the white box layer and positioned the sword... I know for you digital people this aint know big deal But for me, a rookie at this digital stuff, it is ... I'm havin a blast with this painting and the discoveries made along the way !!! Artwithin , I can't imagine managing 70 plus layers ...WOW... On the other hand I'm just starting with this medium....! THANK YOU ALL, for all your past comments and encouragement, you all motivate me ( Vintorix prods me with a stick and a hot iron) ;) Tom

Tom, I see very little difference in the quality of your work between digital and traditional. It just goes to show that talent is talent, no matter what medium is used. Splendid so far.

O boy, I think I have just rediscoverd colours! In the other painting, that one of the library, I thought that the essence was stubborness. In this painting, the theme is PURENESS, Everything is fresh and clean like a newborn baby. And from Tom! There you see, you should never judge anybody on looks! Not only does he do just as well with Photoshop as with brushes, but with using only a 1/1000 part of the functionality in Photoshop. And the version is 5.5 from the Koreawar or something..
