My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I don't think we could stand seeing the entire saddle - just give us little pieces like this showing that wonderful patina so we can absorb it a bit at a time!

I find changing gear on a horse problematic. I used to take a few girls from a drug rehab riding as their 'reward'. I got 'too good' for the trot string, and our instructor move my fellow leader and myself into the 'canter string'; the only problem was I couldn't get Blue, my mount, to do anything the horse in front wasn't doing. Blue was half Welsh cob, half Suffolk Punch, and extremely broad backed. "SQUEEZE Blue between your thighs, Andrea," she called. Mmmm. So she came alongside, and said to the horse 'Canter on', with which we took off, with me like a chiffon scarf in the wind, and my fellow leader brushed off on a bush and on his back in the heather. Look what memories your astonishing and beautiful photo called up! We do have a Western Style riding school nearby, maybe I'll try that!

The last time I went riding it wasn't my legs that were sore! I've been wishing I could go riding again but I doubt that this old broad could even get her leg slung across the saddle. Guess I'll stick to merry go rounds with the kids. A great photo and I've loved reading the comments of others.
