Description

We were sitting, waiting for dusk and the fireworks on the fourth, and kept noticing the Ferris wheel across the bay. I realized that just like life, even a Ferris wheel has its ups and downs, with delays at times, no matter which way you were headed either up or down.. holding one in place, stationary as if in one of life's ruts. The seat always sways a bit at these stops, making you feel uncomfortable even though you know you are safe. This is for you M'lady, may your ups always outnumber the downs, and the ride through life always be lit. I would love to be as the bar across your lap....holding you always safe!

I just realized that Cheri had posted a similar shot on the 15th of March taken from last year's 4th. It can be seen here. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1883226&member. It has a way more romantic feel to it, and we were still in the learning stage, she was holding it in her hands for her capture, we now realize that even the slightest movement,..even when you think your holding perfectly still, shows up in the shot....although post work really helps a bit too! I really love yours baby, the whole feel of it makes it so much better, more emotive, and real!!! We had issues tonight with our internet, and ran out of time, to the point that only one of us was going to be able to post. Cheri felt that this was more important, and conceded to me.......she makes it impossible to not love her!!

The Dedication and meaning of this post is awesome. It's a beautiful photo, the reflections are incredible and the clarity for this camera and taking a night shot are superb. He used my camera it's focus and hold perfectly still for 10 seconds on night shots. This is way better then mine, you have a better feel for night shots then I ever did. This turned out awesome, sweetheart.

A wonderful warm evening atmosphere! The reflections are great and the place is shimmering, because the wheel is not soooooo big... Has a human dimension, not the bigger, faster, better attitude. Looks romantic. The right place to relax and let the day go...

In answer to giovanino, we do not have a tripod, but have also learned rapidly that holding the camera in hand doesn't always produce the best pictures. I remember how some of ours had turned out, thinking we were being so perfectly still, coming home and uploading to find we had captured the most amazing blur. As I was taking this to post as a dedication to a most amazing young girl. I wanted it to be good sooo badly. I walked out onto a pier, laid down and placed the camera out before me, looking through the view finder, I managed to position the camera, while it was sitting propped on the pier, to get the shot I wanted. All I had to do was gently push the button, this turned out the best of the six I took from various distances. We really should get a tripod,...but sometimes improvising works out ok too!
