Wonderful. Maybe I can photograph my kitchen sink, my bathroom sinks, my tub and the inside of my shower stall, paint them, combine all those surfaces and see what happens. The kitchen sink might put it over the top. Do you think? LOL. Beautiful results from a very creative process.

Superb imagery and cool idea for the work. I made a black box to set over my scanner for things like this out'a foam core scraps. Very inventive mark, strong sense of organic - psychedelic wheat perhaps - blues and greens really shine out.

The description of your process had me in stitches. I love the outcome. I am addicted to texturing, and this is a lovely fluid mixture of elements. A great lesson to think outside the (scanner) box.

Let's see if I can remember ... Dang! I was just thinking yesterday, "what if I painted some suede and some birch bark and then photographed them ... no! ... I'll SCAN the whole thing, and then work on it in Photoshop." How the heck did you get from "I'm just sitting here looking out the window" to THIS??? I opened this in full view and then shrank it so I could see the whole thing at once, which is a totally different viewing experience from scrolling down and seeing the piece unfold before my eyes. (Full view keeps me from licking the screen so much, anyway, with these pieces of yours!) Yes yes yes to the whole fabric thing, my dear! Those greens and blues against the dark background are so RICH, so SUMPTUOUS, it's beyond belief! Did I remember to tell you I like the image? It's quite attractive. :)

Wow, a veritable tour de force in creating this stellar image! Dedication at its purest. The agony we endure for the ecstasy of our art. A massive undertaking that successfully resulted in a remarkable concept, Dave. Some time ago, jocko500 combined several bizarre steps to create art employing a hocus pocus of neon and UV lights, mixed with all kinds of arcane chemical concoctions, in his quest for the holy grail of high strangeness.

Suede? Birch bark? Scanner? Well then. And this what came out? I can't get my head around that, LOL!! This is just so gorgeous .. rain running off the long spears of day lilly leaves .. and you say its birch and suede??? Talk about creative juices flowing! I love blues and greens .. and my gosh but you've just outdone yourself. I had to shrink it way down to see it .. and then way out to slowly scroll down it's lenght, drinking in the awesome textures that really only show up at zoom .. and then zooming the browser to 150 and then 200 .. WOW.

Beautiful abstract! All the preliminary work to capture unique textures paid off. nice combined and framed.

I went out to fix some supper, pausing the Verdi song I was on, and when I hit play I heard a low (baritone, I think) voice going down, down, down, to the end of a note. Something about that drew me to your pouty image. What a joy it was to open from the thumbnail and see all the texture and detail. I love the sharpness and layered look of it. When I look, I think of looking at microscopic creatures in a microscope and seeing the lines of their structure, translucent lying one on top of the other. Beautiful and varied shades of green, with lovely highlights and shadows. I like the gradual infusion of blue as the eye travels down the image, and the bright blade of green that keeps it from totally taking over. Beautiful image and very funny description of its entry into the world.
