Description

And write myself a letter This tree** sits near one of the falls I saw in Hawaii. It's huge, and people have written on its leaves over and over again. Something about it just fascinated me (doesn't take much!!)--so here you go. **signature tree

One of my friends "Brave Terry" had a tree like this and I never knew why they gave it the name the "Autograph Tree" till we saw this at Umauma Falls. Nice capture. Aloha

How interesting and novel an idea. Now this is really creative and you've captured the spirit of it wonderfully.

Nice shot Marilyn. But, I am wondering just how long will the leaves stay on the tree? Here today, gone in a week or two.....Aloha

but nowadays, rather than use pen and paper, they sit right down and type themselves a letter on their laptop. The vivid colors run all the way across the spectrum in this fine foto, Maz! I've never seen this display of sweet gentle graffiti around here. It's usually sprayed on sidewalks or carved on the side of tree trunks. In fact, I've even see it chiseled into the sidewalk.

an amazing sight, yes! But it's also a wonderful capture, a cornucopia of shapes & forms and hues, and like a big street festival for leaves. Whatever you did to it, if anything, brought out the words & inscriptions almost as light in the leaves. I understand Andrea that there's something jarring about it, if you consider that leaves have been defaced, even damaged; but there's also something wonderful about people leaving their love in the leaves (which I assume will survive the assault). And I love harry's comment too. Wonderful, a real Marilyn shot, something you wouldn't find in many galleries. Very vital seeing.

Wow. This is amazing. The colors are perfect, as usual, and the carved/written names really make me sit still and try to read all of them. It's hypnotic in a way.
