Description

Talk about good timing and a lot of luck! I was out in the yard trying out some macros with my flash after making a diffuser out of a piece of milk carton. Wanted to see if this would result is some good macros. While testing it out I spotted this small miner bee buzzing the Lemon tree. For some reason it landed on this small piece of flower that was hanging by a spiderweb thread off a full bloom above. Causing it to spin around. I snapped off one shot and this was the result with some HDR to even out the bright on the flower. :-) The flash with the diffuser is working pretty cool so far. Some of the draw backs are no rapid firing of shots. And most all the images have to have the white balance corrected (not a big deal in RAW). The upside, much better apertures for greater focus area. And a more even lighting so far. Info: ISO 100; 1/200; f/11 Thanks for taking a look. -Bruce

Bravo Bruce you can certainly see extra detail in the white textures, and your home made diffuser works well in this great Macro

Another superb macro capture, Bruce, and a very opportune one, at that! In the right place at the time, and superb detail, as always!

Beautiful capture my friend, he certainly looks a little different to the smaller bees we have here his eyes look somewhat larger. Interesting idea for a diffuser also looks good from this point of view.
