My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

it's been a while I think since you've posted portraits, or at least it seems like it. But when I see them I'm reminded how good you are at them. This is actually a very complex portrait, she's looking up but her face is slightly towards us, and her eyes take her up & out of the shot, and her face is concentrated yet relaxed. It's beautiful tara, a fine capture of the kind of moment that photographers alone find. Her hands are also very expressive. Much happening in a small space, but it's all subtle. I'm a fan of your flower portraits and your face portraits, maybe they both come from the same inner source. Whatever, wherever, a thoughtful and fine portrait, I think it's beautiful. (my fav's aren't working too well, so if there are no words there, take the comment as my words, lol!)

Excellent shot of this lady...who knows what she was thinking...lol

Perfect shot! It's wonderfully candid and so incredibly open in that way that only candidness can convey. I love the choice of black and white, as I've always believed that the absence of "distracting" color always heightens the emotional intensity of a subject. This is superb! I love it, and it's even better that in a way, she looks very, very, very vaguely like my friend Dale. Yeah, we often get the Chip and Dale jokes, but since we know mostly Russian, Belorussian, Ukrainian and Latvian nationals we get precious few of those comments. This is great work, and I love the small details and clarity.

I can imagine you holding her rapt attention all day, filled with tales of your expeditions, recounting all those various stories and harrowing moments, like the "Stalking pots" and such.

stunning portrait!

You do really great portraits! I love the light in this and the black and white is almost "journalistic" in stile, if that makes sense. I think that b/w works perfectly because you get those really great shapes to things and details like individual hairs.
