Description

Life Changes Fooled again By the goddess Or the fairies Or those creatures Who wander The world To show us Mere humans How easy They can change A simple thing So much time Thinking It was all Figured out Knowing how It would end What would happen But those little Imps Those sneaky little Creatures Had other things In mind Words were said And heard Ears listened Hearts felt Souls knew grace There was A shift So big So huge So vast It turned A part Of the world Upside down So now Life has Changed The road is Followed By two people Who walk Not quite Together Closer than They thought What happened They don’t Quite know They are Willing To find out The end Has not Yet Been written 7/14/09

But, perhaps still being on the same road, traveling alongside each other, new insights will be shared.

So interesting, Marilyn! Not sure I could cope with that sort of uncertainty. Beautifully written.

Written like a stream of consciousness. This is very intimate. You've taken us in that stream with you. Reminds me of your white water rafting experience...open to the adventure, hanging on tight, wearing a life jacket and a helmet, known rough spots ahead...but they are a big part of the thrill. And after the rapids there are always spots of calm and shores to rest upon. And you are not up the creek without a paddle anymore :-))) Really expressive and so simply done. Wow.

Nice work my friend. Life does change all the time, maybe it is the changes the create the life

The more things change, the more they stay the same. My goodness, by the title I thought you were talking about puberty, PMS or menopause. Stellar, insightful prose to go along with another one of your fine captures, Maz!

lol, Harry! Well before I forget, the image is beautiful, worthy of an upload by itself. That aside, the poem is perfect, and I appreciate what you're saying and where it comes from and where it's going. And you say it simply, in your usual short lines, and it ends just where it should. You couldn't have summed things up better. And yes, there are little spirits out there who pick one of us occasionally to see how much they can rewrite & confound all our expectations. (And they're havin' a great time, even if we aren't!) Lovely poem, exact & truthful, and said perfectly. (My favs have no words because the words aren't working right now...just so you know!) Another fav.

I love the stream-of-consciousness, almost song-like cadence of this. I can definitely see you standing up in front of a crowd (preferably around firelight) reciting this, since it has a distinct tone-of-voice quality to it. I love the way you've captured the fickleness of life/fate and everything in between. And it reminds me of something I'd hear by the group Dead Can Dance (my most favorite group ever!!!) Fantastic!
