Description

She is laying eggs. This is the second monarch to bless our milk weed. I am waiting to see if we get more caterpillars. Cross your fingers. Update on the chrysalis hunt .... we haven't found them yet. This is quick post and again, i have to go make food and sleep. I am looking so forward to this weekend. I have nothing but gallery surfing planned. Totally narley dude! Thank you for looking, best if full sized. Sorry she is a little blurry. She never stopped moving even a second. Her wings were contently going. Thank you for all the comments on my previous post, I love them all, and come to love you all too. Have a great night and I look forward to seeing all your wonderful works of art. Your friend always, Cheri

I was outside and saw this one flitting about, and yelled for Cheri to grab her camera. Even decked out in full ninja garb, almost completely invisible to the human eye, Every time Cheri moved in for a shot, this one would just flutter away. Apparently Monarchs have some sort of ESP and can even detect ninjas! But,...so strong is the appeal of the milkweed to the monarch, almost lotus flower like to them, that it could not help but return. Finally, nature proved more important, and this butterfly proceeded with its intent despite the presence of the blurred form of M'lady. As it was laying its eggs on our most enticing plant, Cheri moved in snapped this shot and once again disappeared from sight. When my head cleared, I went back inside, to find her at her computer, whence I had left her, as if none of the aforementioned had even taken place. I was beginning to wonder if it had all been some lucid dream, until I saw this post. She's quick!!.........I'll give her that! Great shot Baby, wish it would've held still just a bit though.

Did you have Dave mark the location? Maybe they're like salmon, and they come back to their home leaf or something. :P (Heehee! Actually, I don't know from Adam about butterflies.)

Great capture, Cheri. Yes, she does look like a little stained glass window. Great exercise, I expect, for the wee mother ... ;o) Warm regards, on a very wet, unrelenting rainstorm, in 'dear auld Glesca toun' / ( Dear Old Glasgow Town ), John.

Beauty! I like how the body is curled slightly, a different POV than most get with a butterfly! Lovely capture Cheri!
