Description

A Dragonfly’s Tale By Cheri Mays I am born in the water Where I swim and I play, And for right now in my life I am content to stay, As I play and I eat With my friends as we grow, I feel my body is changing, Some new features to show, Now I am having some issues I don’t quite understand, And I notice something different I’ve never seen in the sand, It’s glistening and flickering From the rays of light, And the strange urges I’m having I can no longer fight, I swim up to the surface To have a look around, And before I realize it I ‘m drying myself on the ground, I take to the air and it Makes my heart sing, For I am a Dragonfly With beautiful wings! Best in Full view. It was a little hard to read off the photo. No matter what font or color I used there was something in the picture it blended in with. You can be assured you will see more of my writing on Rendo. I had a hard time determining where this actually fit in. The dragonfly has become a totem in our family. They give us peace through our many losses these last few years. It started when Pastor Pagel read the poem by Doris Stickney titled Water bugs and Dragonflies. https://www.rainbowsbridge.com/.../Doris-WaterbugsandDragonflies-632617144169637500.aspx at Dave's brothers funerals. The family lost two in just a little over one month's time. One to a fall and one to a brain tumor. We again found comfort in the poem and totem this last November with his father's passing. So I dedicate this post for all who have lost someone in their life. May you find peace and comfort. Thank you for looking. Thank you to all who have ever left comments on my previous posts, they all mean so very much to me. Thank you for all being so wonderful, you are all incredible people. I am so blessed to now know all of you. Your friend always, Cheri

I ask that you all please check out this link Cheri provided, especially if you aren't familiar with the tale. I hate funerals!!! There is nothing one can say, no magical words for the dear friend or family, that can possibly ease their pain. Our presence is merely to honor those that have passed, and acknowledge the impact they had made on our lives. "The water bugs and dragonflies" surpasses that, its intent was to explain death for children, opening their hearts and minds to the change that has just taken place, helping them to understand and accept this part of life we all have to endure and deal with, for death is just as much a part of life, as living. Doris Stickney has found the magical words that actually comfort......I am grateful to her. I love your poem sweetie, placed so aptly with this beautiful photo. It's portrayed so wonderfully, and as so many of my family are now also fans of your work, I know they will greatly appreciate this!!

I am very impressed with your poem, and please share more. You may have tried to do this as a collage with your photo in one place and poem of to the side in another square and an added background or color. Since the photo itself really had no open background to place the poem. Or make a mask with the photo and place the poem off to the side. Just a suggestion. If you would like me to show you an example of what I mean site mail me, would be happy to help. I tried to get a photo of a dragon fly last weekend, I got a few nice ones but they wore me out by moving around constantly lol.

Ah Cheri, this is most grand! I look forward to seeing more of your writing. Love the image, would make a fine greeting card! Another suggestion, I sometimes outline the words with black and sometimes add the text a few times to get the right shade. Going in my favs! And thank you again for the lovely words you left on Bitty Baby!!!

A beautiful poem (somehow beautiful isn't the right word, it is more) with lovely sentiments. The picture goes with the poem wonderfully. To loose a brother is heartbreaking but to loose two, & then a father. I haven't the words. Thankyou for this lovely poem.
