I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

I know about the title, think I've used it for the same reason!! What a beautiful place, calm and peaceful and serene....

LOL at decie...Dang its YOUNG Bruce and at times especially after Carin has been working her butt off, its dragging her out for our walks..Getting to those places we drive Rhonda and that is because she won't get behind the wheel of the smart car Harry wants her to drive...smiles. Her car works perfect as on more than one occasion we needed the back seats folded down to spend an amourous night out on the...well you know smiles. Love the Photo...love the photographer!!!

Reminds me of the need to get out and walk more. Looks like a beautiful little place.

Lush and beautiful terrain. Great POV of the bridge.

First thing that came to mind - and not just because of where you are but because it is much like here in this respect - is there are creatures lurking in that growth so near water...I wouldn't go there! then I noticed it was a really cool shot and I could poke around with my eyes and be perfectly safe. LOL

When you're down and out, When you're on the street, When evening falls so hard I will comfort you. Ill take your part. When darkness comes And pains is all around, Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down. Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down. Stellar clarity, geometry, lighting, silhouetting and textures in this shot, Carin!

Lovely capture and the little bird makes a great finish.

This is gorgeous. It's so incredibly inviting. In just looking at this and other images in your galley, I really do have to make a trip to South Africa. I have a few friends from that neck of the woods and so I must make a trip that way. The bamboo and the bird silhouette really make this pop.

Really beautiful.... Also, that's a great POV! Not, as most are, from level or top down... Excellent work. Rob.

The title is apt!! perhaps it's just a bonus bird, but a line in the song,.."When your weary, feeling small" fits so well with this, as the bird has found a place to rest and take comfort because of the bridges presence. Beautiful shot!!
CavalierLady
Nicely taken, Carin, and along with your title, and the lovely growth underneath the bridge, and the bird sitting atop the bridge, it evokes the feeling of calmness and security. :)
