Description

This old dame, The Zeila, ran ashore on the coast of Namibia in August 2008. She was apparently sold to an Iranian company as scrap metal and on her way being towed, she broke loose in a storm and ended on her belly about 60-100 feet from the shoreline! So much for that idea! As this is cold water, no coral will be growing on her, so I guess she is just good for seabirds to nest and poop on!!! Thank you for popping in and for your valued comments and favs on my upload of the little bridge yesterday! Take care! Hugs, Carin xx

I remember that ship and actually took a couple of pictures of it myself, lol. This ship will add santuary to goodness knows how many different spieces of fish and will be covered in marine life in no time... probably be a snorklers paradise!!! Love the photo...love the photographer!!

great capture, nice that you got a cool shot but its a shame it didnt go down in deep waters out of sight out of mind. It is going to be a sorry sight in years to come if they dont move it.

Great shot, the postwork adds to the overall feel of disaster. And how wonderful that eventually, it will be home to all kinds of sea life--nature does reclaim herself, dosen't she??!!

Wonderful mood and contrast, the dark stormy skies and choppy water! Excellent! Great shot, Carin, and I'm sure many little sea creatures will find a home here.

Good heavens, with the turbulent waves and ominous clouds, I thought this was a painting at first. Not exactly the Good Ship Lollypop, eh, Carin? Stellar POV, clarity, textures and mood ambiance in this capture.
