Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

MARILYN! All you have to do to get rid of these people is turn the TV news off! LOL. However, since I can't really do much to influence world events these days, I have switched entirely to music, the weather and Netflix. :-)))

Marilyn, I do believe this is one of your best yet. And the picture is perfect for it. We don't need toxic people invading our lives or thoughts. Bravo girl....Aloha

Yikes! Whatever happened, it sure produced some excellent writing from you! This is fantastic. I can't wait to hear the rest of the story!

There's an older song, way back when that starts out something like, "...I'm gonna wash that man right outta my hair." I think you've said it best in your narrative. WTG.

You go, girl! Great catharsis! I know just how you feel about these disrepectful, foul mouthed, rowdy, spoiled teenagers nowadays. Ozzie and Harriet never raised kids like those!

Oh this is fantastic! I love the emotional intensity of it and the sheer moxy that is often required to tell "folks" like that to simply beat it. I love this. Cathartic works are always so moving and empowering. Ugh...did I just use the Oprah-word "empower"? Oh well...that doesn't take away from the great intensity of this.

oh yeah, I know those visitors. We used to call them "the ghosts in the closet"—they love to come out when you've come back from a wonderful day and douse the whole place in darkness. And then again, I think the muses send them to f___ with us when we're on a high. Perfectly written, you captured all their obnoxious flavor & the feeling we have when they're waiting for us at the door at night. And your image, though in darkness, really does feel like two birds singing in the night, so maybe it's hope in the darkness, like the last stanza & final line of your poem. I hear ya, I know what you're talking about...(Lol, tara, wanting to know the rest of the story. By now I assume you guys talked about it.) Fine portrait of those blasted buggers.
