Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Awake with coffee, My mind remains in slumber; Blue darkness whispers. It's not every day (when half awake no less) that I feel the spark of haiku, but today is a different day! This is a gorgeous piece of work, a beautifully-melded collaboration. Basho and Chiyo-ni would be proud! The image is nicely dark, but not depressed, depressing or overly brooding. Fabulous!

Marilyn, my hard drive went down 3 times the last 36 hours, and I couldn't get here till now. Mea culpa! Your image is truly beautiful, it's deep & deeply inviting, as if into deep meditation & inner rest; and it's mysterious and vast, and your mists—like whispers—speak gently through the dark. I'm honored you chose my words for this, your image does them great honor, and I'm so thrilled you wanted to use them for anything of yours! When I saw Chip's original comment (on your haiku), I thought, how wonderful that he's comparing you to Basho and Chinyo-ni! (From a Master like Chip, that is mighty praise!) And I wanted to celebrate. I don't think my poem was close to yours, but to have you use it for this image was wonderful. I even love the hue you used for the letters: They're perfect for your image! Well, thanks for letting me be a flower in your huge & beautiful garden, it's a wonderful place to be; and when I fav this, I'm faving your artwork, not my words. It's a beautiful image, and thanks so much for including me in it, Marilyn. I'm truly touched.

Stellar blends, hues, shades and mood ambiance in this composition, Missy Maz! And, how, when and where did Mark ever come up with those dire words?
