Description

This is the best view point in Kansas City, Missouri. You are looking north as you look directly over the tallest buildings downtown. Photos for this panorama were taken in June 2009 from the top of a 217' tower that supports an eternal flame at the Liberty Memorial. The Memorial also houses the National World War I Museum. The Kansas City skyline is modest compared to that of Chicago in my series of photos in this gallery labeled, "View from the 99th Floor..." The tallest building in Kansas City, Missouri is the all glass, 42 story office building, One Kansas City Place. This building is 632 feet (193 meters) tall which is two feet taller than the tallest structure in Saint Louis on the other side of the state. Can you tell there is a spirit of competition between Kansas City and St. Louis? LOL. The sweep of this panorama covers an angle of about 180 degrees from west (left) through north (center) to east (right). I live about 40 miles northwest of here...over the horizon left of center. Link: Tallest Buildings in Kansas City Thanks for stopping by and all your great support in the form of comments and favorites. ZOOM if you can...have left very large file. Bill:) P.S. No dirty windows to shoot through. This is an outside, open, circular deck...with a chest high substantial wall to keep you safe.

this is the first time to see KC in panoramic.excellent panorama. I have been to St Louis and although I like the city, the casinos are bunk with Missouri laws.of course it beats Texas 'cause the idiots here allow the money to go to Oklahoma and Louisiana

Splendid clarity and textures in this stellar and grand panoramic vista of Kansas City, Mo, Bill. I never realized that your city had such tall buildings. Maybe it's because whenever the subject of a state being flat is brought up, Kansas is invariably mentioned. You know, it's a bit difficult, but, with my handy magnifying glass in hand, I do believe I can make out your place in the distance.

Very cool shot, I'm assuming from all your visits to tall buildings you're not in the least subject to fear of heights. : )

Its been a few years but I can remember driving through there, spending the day, we had BBQ for lunch, took Erin to FAO Schwarz toy store, spent the night downtown, went swimming at the hotel , then headed home the next morning but stopped first in St Louis saw the worlds largest Arch, then onto Louisville Kentucky to see the worlds largest baseball bat. LOL wonderful part of the country..
