Description

This was taken at Dave's family reunion this last Saturday while I was walking around stealthily snapping shots. Nobody knows for sure who I took pictures of nor what I caught them doing. Most of them where, as usual completely caught off guard, which is the way I like it. This subject does not think I took many volleyball pictures. Our subjects name is Dave ( Elfin12u) and is the king of the family court. His subjects include, brothers, sons, daughters, cousins, nieces, and nephews. I had to be most stealthy with this subject to capture him in his natural environment ( the volleyball court). Thank you for looking. Thank you for all the comments on my previous posts. You are all incredible people and your comments are very much taken to heart. Have a great evening/ day, Your Friend always, Cheri

Very nice shot! Those family reunions are great! We have one every year with about 50-75 people and we all go camping for a long weekend. Excellent and thanks for sharing!

Heeheehee! You rock at the Ninja stealth thing! I'm with you ... I would rather get shots of people just being themselves. I get a lot of crap shots, but it's worth the trouble for the good ones. Excellent action capture, with everything in motion, even the sand! Boy, isn't he going to be surprised when he sees THIS! :P A great shot of your cutie!

This is great-reminds me of my wife's family reunion and the dreaded volley ball game against the bothers and sisters against the nieces and newphews. My wife has 5 brothers and 19 sisters plus spouses. So far we rule but we are getting older and they keep getting taller....lol

Terrific clarity and lighting in this action shot, Cheri. But if you want to really qualify as a ninja photographer, try sneaking/trespassing into a stranger's backyard and snapping pictures like this.

Whoa!!!! When the heck did you take this one???? At least she got my good side, and more importantly, it looks to me like I passed the serve pretty well!! Geez.....This was more than a bit unexpected,..But, on the bright side, I'm engaged in what is commonly considered a completely normal activity, and not getting intimate with a shrubbery or other unnatural mammalian acts! Of course you all realize that her ninja abilities don't count here,...I'm usually so focused on the ball, that nothing else matters.....including the tree that was removed, the summer that I chased a shanked serve, putting the ball back on court mere seconds before full impact. I never saw the tree!! Certain southern areas of my body are grateful for the removal of the obstacle, still..it was a tree, and not its fault....sigh! Sneaky shot sweetie, at least you didn't ruin everyone's monitor with a front view!!

Excellent shot, well caught! Shots where people are just being natural are so hard to get, but you do it so well...

Perfect volleyball court stance...I can't remember what that particular pose is called...something Asian-influenced I would assume. At any rate, this is a fantastic action shot and I admire the clarity and control of light. Ninja photography works perfectly in this instance, especially because the picture is so alive and spontaneous. Great work!
