Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Striking contrast. Yet another benefit of Hawaii. Volcanic soil must be very rich...although that doesn't sound right. I think of volcanic ground...I picture pumice rock.

Christmas in July. Works for me! The colors are great, and the details are nice too. I love that looking-straight-down POV, where even if you're not looking straight down, you still get that feeling of depth.

A plenitude of deep, lush, rich colors and lighting effects in this shot, Maz!

well this is another of your plant shots that capture plants as if they were in the middle of a very intense interaction. You get all these contrasting energies, you go against type by allowing things to flop all over the image and to dominate and shape the image however they wish, you get odd plants "reaching out" for each other (tara), the point of view is outstanding (ana), and the textures are a symphony of variations, hues, etc. And you're not afraid to let one hue dominate, even though the others have their say. Great shot. Love it. And pure you.
