Description

The midnight bandit has been striking in the neighborhood once again. He is considered hungry and dangerously cute. He is described as about 2ft tall, very furry, ringed tail, wearing black gloves, and a black mask. Lock up you garbage cans. lock up your bird feeders. Watch those gardens. Even your berry bushes are not safe. Full story at 11. One of the cats noticed the raccoon first. Karma was sitting in the window just staring at him. I know she has never seen one before. She was probably wondering how that big strange looking cat got up there, LOL. Dave got me up and had the flash light ready. I hung out the window and grabbed the shot. Thank you Honey for making this shot possible. Full sized is awesome on him. Thank you for looking. Thank you for all the comments on my previous posts. They all mean so much to me. You are all wonderful people, and I am glad to get to and have gotten to know you all. Your Friend always, Cheri

Karma was just staring out the window all hunched up, I made the mistake of checking out the ground first, thinking another cat or perhaps a rabbit was out there. I was about to give up and get ready for bed when it moved. In the complete dark, this critter reminded me of a Koala, I could make out the limbs hugging the branch and a gray shape. This is the first time I've seen a raccoon in the yard let alone up in the mulberry tree. It tried to hide it's face behind the branch.....probably thinking to prevent us from getting a good description. After Cheri snapped off several shots and went back to bed, I checked again to see if it was still there about ten minutes later. Nada,....Elvis had left the tree. Sorry sweetie for cutting your sleep a bit short, but I really didn't think you'd want to miss the opportunity. It certainly has the appearance of being well fed. This all made for an interesting and unusual night, we don't live far from downtown, nearly the middle of the city. Not really normal to spot Raccoons right here. Sweet capture of this late night thief!!

Caught in the act! LOL! Lock 'em up and throw away the key! Ultra superlative capture, both figuratively and literally, of the masked intruder, looking ever so sorrowful for being caught in such a compromising position, Cheri! One of your best!

I have two of these bandits that check out the porch feeder and will empty it in no time if I forget to bring it in at night. I'll walk out on the porch and they'll go up the tree stop and look at me peaking out from behind a limb. I talk they listen but they don't mind well. I don't want to hurt them so I shoe them off but they're right back the next night. Great shot of this guy at night, very cute story to accompany the shot!!!!

This is so cool. We were in the mountains and there were about 10. I was outside and being the dummy I am I threw them a cookie. They lied the cookies and came towrd me, but wouldn't get too close. One came up and was taking food from my hand. It was kinda scarey at first.

Gloved and masked bandits...I love 'em! Fantastic shot! I love the expression on his face. It's so, racoonish...moderately curious, moderately annoyed, somewhat bewildered, but cute, nonetheless. Fantastic work. Your narrative gave me a giggle, which is a good thing because I'd gone the full day without a good giggle. It's amazing how a laugh can actually change your disposition during a day, and I'm sticking around until 11 to ind out the details.
