Description

See the USA in your Chevrolet! Captured nearly a year ago on 8/9/08, around midday at an annual auto show, about .30 miles/.483 kilometers from my dwelling, so I didn't have to go down by the legendary levee to snap these beauties. A full size view is highly recommended. Just a few pics from the vast array of vintage Chevrolets I have vegetating in my voluminous files. For some inexplicable reason I thought it would be an opportune time to bring them out into the open and stir up old memories. I know tennessedcowgirl would enjoy it. It was so hot that day I didn't bother making a record as to their year and model, but I'm relatively familiar with them enough to make a guess. Number one looks like a customized 1950 to 54 model; Number two also around 1954; Number 3 no mistaking the beautiful 1956 Bel Air; and Number 4 a 1947 go-getter. If anyone knows the actual year and model on Nos. 1 and 2, let us know. Update from Str4wB34ry: We think #1 is 1947 Sedan Delivery and #2 is a 1953 Chevy Bel Air with 4 additional grill teeth. Thank you, hope you're right! Chrome rules! Tallyho, and toodles.

Chrome rules - stainless steel is easier to keep! Lol We think #1 is 1947 Sedan Delivery and #2 is a 1953 Chevy Bel Air with 4 additional grill teeth. Good set of photos, well done.

Ooh, I've been in all of them, I think; drive-in movies in the top one, family sedan in the second, dates in third and fourth when I was in high school...ah, the good old days! Excellent shots, Harry, thanks for the memories!

Yup, the 1954 Chevy (#2) was the car I got my driver's license with. It was still a relatively sick in-line six cylinder that they remedied in '55 with their brilliant V-8. As you well know...:)

I love your car shots. You captured the sheen beautifully, I rarely see them look this good, even in a showroom. And your light is so bold & frontal, it makes the car come right 'to' us. You gave us 2 basic angles in this montage, and you've alternated them to give a basic music to the collection. The colors on the first & last are stunning (truly stunning) and the Bel Air is just beautiful. It's so nice to see it with such virginal total blue. I'm not knowledgeable about cars, but these shots are beauties in and of themselves. Really something to look at.
