Description
See the USA in your Chevrolet!
Captured nearly a year ago on 8/9/08, around midday at an annual auto show, about .30 miles/.483 kilometers from my dwelling, so I didn't have to go down by the legendary levee to snap these beauties.
A full size view would be highly advantageous.
Unless I've missed something, I don't believe there is going to be a similar car show this year, which is the first time I can remember they weren't going to hold this singular event. Usually there is a big sign advertising the show, but not this time. Maybe it was a money problem, or a lack of interest over the years. Not that I'm hurting for automobile pictures, because I have oodles and scads of them, but it would be nice to see if there was anything on the docket I hadn't seen before.
Chrome rules!
Tallyho, and toodles.

Looking these amazing old cars, can not help think of the speedbumps on the roads. The worst sound a car owner can hear is a scraping sound of the chrome on the humps. Exciting collage once again Harry. Do you have any more? bring them on, like this series a lot.

Wow, I take a day or two off and look what you come up with! These '39s are gorgeous. Honestly, to me they are works of art. Super. The yellow fog lights must have been the in-thing in '39.

I agree with several people above, and with Bill "to me they are works of art". Again the hues are beautiful, your light and boldness make them jump off the page, and your montage moves nicely from angle to opposite angle, to frontal and then frontal with the hood up. I imagine making these montages takes you time, since you have to sort through a lot of shots and find ones that speak to each other—always touchy since they didn't necessarily speak to each other in their original habitat. The colors & ornamental painting, the grills, and the sheer contour of these things is amazing. More fine work, harry. I know I should see these as conglomerations of engineering & drivability, but in shots like these I see them as visual splendor. I'm sure they have the other matters down (or did, long ago). A real feast for the eyes.

Kool collection of 39's a lowrider favourite body style. Your images are fabulous and I especially love the red one, it reminds me of a car for sale on a lot in LA when I visited in 1979!
