Description

Hello again, ever expanding reality. Perhaps I haven't been looking you in the face lately, but I still know you are there. Last time we spoke I was just a boy, just 2 years ago. I don't proclaim to suddenly be a man, but I'm not the boy I was last year. I'm twenty-six now, and I haven't known civilian life since I was 25. Amazing thing to think of, I've been in the Army for a whole year already and haven't even made it to my permanent duty station yet. Ain't training great? Ever expanding reality, perhaps we should recap what you've shown me in this past year? I can see beyond my pitiful existence now and see sunsets and sunrises far into the future. Perhaps I am not capable of the things I once thought I was, but perhaps I am capable and willing to go so much further and do so much more. Remember when I was scared to lead the way? I used to think I'd muck it all up again, and never would try. And now the U.S. Army seems to think that because I can make it through college I must be a leader and entrusts me with the lives of young men, their lives ride on my decisions. And that doesn't scare me anymore. No, I'm not the boy I was last year, ever expanding reality has shown me that much. I'm ready for it, for the man that has made mistakes in the past is that much less willing to make them again. I may still never know exactly who I am, for I keep changing with the eddies of time, but I feel I am closer now than I was before. Essayons.

It is good to see that you are open to the "ever expanding reality". Too many (in my opinion) refuse to see what lies before them and they stagnate. Always go forwards. Continue to grow. And look after yourself and those that you command.

HELLO! WELL thought out and said! SOME peeps NEVER grow up. Like TallPockets. WINK. It seems YOU will NOT have that same issue. SMILE. Awhile back in my feeble gallery, I posted an upload titled LEAD DOG. "Unless you're the LEAD dog, the scenery NEVER changes". By that, this DUMB old man is NOT saying that EVERYONE should WANT to always be the LEAD dog. I'm simply saying that EVERYONE SHOULD TRY it for a day. Just for comparison sake. After such, to each their own best, I say. I'm also reminded of a shrink friend of mine who once told me, "TallPockets, something worth doing WELL is ALSO worth doing NOT so well". That one stumped me awhile. He went on to explain that one can try things in life that are enjoyable and not be GREAT at it. Like when TallPockets plays GOLF. GRINS. He LUVS the game but is NOT that GOOD at it. But, it IS WORTH the effort and often aggravation. WINK. CHANGE is MOSTLY a GOOD thing. Just don't change your CORE beliefs. As for IF one is READY for this or that? I'll leave you with this, KIND SOUL: "COURAGE is doing the RIGHT thing while experiencing fear" My BEST to you and yours. Keep On Truckin'!
