Continuing on the koi series, captured 6/29/09, at the beautiful Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden on the beautiful campus of California State University Long Beach in beautiful Long Beach, California. A ZOOM will exponentially increase your viewing pleasure. The cool clear water adds another dimension when photographing these beautiful fishies. Tallyho, and toodles.

Looks to me like they think you're going to feed them; nothing like koi to be gregarious in pursuit of food! Sort of like the dogs of the piscine world. Excellent shots of these beautiful fishies!

they really are complex fish, aren't they, their patterns & coloration seem painted on. And yes the water & its reflections do add a lot of motion & light-play to the shots. I assume they're coming back in better numbers now (you'd said they were decimated)...They really are complexly colored fish. I can see why you like photographing them. And you know, the smaller number may make it easier for you & other photographers to get good shots, because you don't have all that activity and competition that a large number of fish would present...

Nice work on these Koi Harry. The bottom one reminds me of these little submarines I get in my breakfast cerial some 55 years ago. Put in a little baking soda inside and they would sink and swim around.
