Description
Captured 2/12/09, very early in the morning before the mist burned off, within walking distance of my haunt.
A foggy day, just like in Londontown.
A ZOOM view would be to your absolute benefit.
The same photo, with the original on top, followed by alternate variations on the bottom three. Smudge stick filter used on #2, Glowing edges filter used on #3, and the Canvas filter used on #4.
Depicted is a long line of autos, patiently operated by parents dropping their urchins off at school, which is across the street in front of the cars and to the left.
Tallyho, and toodles.

Must pick the canvas effect. Excelent outcome of experimenting. Long time did not see fog like this. I live close to the ocean we don't have fog at all...gggrrrr.

Very adventurous...I've tried using the fabric effect and it never really looks quite right...I like it here, maybe it's the black and white.

My fav is No.3, the Glowing Edges effect, followed closely by No.4.

great to see people choose their favorites. I don't have a favorite only because I work with filters so much, I like all of them equally. You have to know, the original shot has wonderful clarity even with the fog, and a very soft feel, esp full size. The smudge filter makes it seem like it's raining; the glowing edges does what glowing edges does well if you use it well (and you did): It makes it seem like a strange neon-night shot, with lots of textured darks and otherworldly cars. And the canvas of course gives it a painterly feel, and adds 'lights' to it (meaning, the natural white highlights that bumps on a white surface give to that surface; in watercolor paper, the painter uses the 'lights' as part of his/her work; in oil on canvas, it depends on the artist, but when the canvas shows through it gives a quiet hint of light underneath. That's what you imparted here.) Always fun to see you & others play with these things, acknowledging the tools that usually clarify & clean up shots as elements in themselves. More nice fog shots from you.
