Description
I have no idea what kind of planes these are. I just love going to the air show to see them do their thing. I know they practice constantly to get this perfect to amaze those of us on the ground. The hard work pays off. I am completely in awe of their talents. The barrel rolls. the climbing straight up until it stalls and come down in a dead mans fall. Ooh and Ahh! I love it and eat it up. I like EAA for the innovations that transpire there. The science if you will. Here are some Oohs and Ahhs. I didn't want to pull apart this, so I put it together as a collage.
So this is for Bill - bmac62, Rob-debbielove,Harry -Goodoleboy, and all the other countless aviation enthusiast.
This was so cool. They don't let them do the stunts over the crowd, but we are at Dave's work, just behind the airport, on the other side of the road and across the street. The pilots know we are there, so they do stunts right above us. This year there were no jets up, but in past years they flew slower and lower down the street so we could get really good looks and pictures. It's not crowded back there only employees to the companies and their families / guests are allowed on the street. Dave had to show his badge to get back there. So if it looks like were so close... we are. When they do the bombing stunts and the last one the big one goes off .... we feel the heat! We have better seats than the people inside at $36.00 a ticket!

Oh, wow! And you lucky, lucky people, you! (Have never seen an air show myself, not even the Snowbirds ones at Harbourfront here in Toronto, but doesn't change the fact that I'd love to!) And I like the way you combined the images. Yay for collages!

Some of the maneuvers these people did were just nuts!!! All I have to say is that you really really really have to trust to the nth the pilot next to you, as just one minor oops, one second of delay would spell total disaster. The stunts performed are just amazing,...you could actually watch the people in the crowd gripping their chairs as a plane zoomed in a dive, head first towards the ground, pulling up at the last possible second, tires just clearing. To watch a single plane perform was incredible, to see four fly and maneuver as they were.......well...I just don't have any words to describe the sight. There were a lot of WOWs and OMGs from the crowd, and more than just a few Holy $#@!s. Cheri spent pretty much the entire time watching through the view finder, she missed a lot by doing that,.....but that's what allowed her to post these, for all of you! Sweet work baby!!

Stellar set of fotos showing these daredevils of the air going through their well practiced paces, Cheri! I really get a kick out of the smoke trails emitted as they loop the loop and perform other aerobatics in their itinerary. And, thanks again for the dedication and mention. We aviation buffs really work at this stuff.

Oh how I'd LOVE to see one of these shows some day! Those on the ground must feel the adrenaline almost as much as the pilots!

It looks like you had a thoroughly exciting day! I've been out on Lake Washington on a boat when the Blue Angels fly overhead in formation, and the sound travels through your body like a physical presence! This must have been great to see.

Great shots, airshows are always fun . . . for me, anyway. I don't know if this is the same outfit (how many Texan stunt groups could there be) but check this out.
