Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Yes, I do love this shot! The geometry of it, for one thing; and the moss. It looks like a perfect place for owls, sheltered but with very easy access.

At least you managed to hand on to your camera... I don't mind bats but owls around my head make me nervous. :-) Super shot of this structure!

This is an opportunity here. Go back and snap off a bunch, as it comes at you. You already know that it will fly over your head. That would be awesome. Dana

Am guessing the green is some sort of moss. Can it grow inside out of the sunlight? Interesting.

Well I don't know enough about moss, plants, mold, etc, to know what the green is, but I'm pretty sure its living organisms that form in moist dark places; and it's done its wonderful job of coloring & painting these architectural pillars in all kinds of fascinating ways. A nice dark, mysterious shot, and just like you to capture it. Too bad the owl didn't stick around, it would've made a great addition—but the fact that it was there is one of those shamanistic signs that wisdom is where you walk. Nice play of the pillars against the ridges of the roof and the strange interior lighting & shadows too. A fascinating shot all around.
