Buffalo Lake in Montello Wi.

Wisconsin has such diversity with in such a short distance. This is not far from the Dells either. This lake is really long and goes up to highway 23, which is what we took to the Dells. I guess I am in a water mood the last couple of days.....No actually I think I am in a getaway mood. Maybe this weekend will help that out. I am going to the state fair. I have never been to the state fair, well at least not during the state fair. I've been to the Milwaukee Mile and I think the track is on the state fair grounds. They also had a really huge computer sale back in 1997 on the grounds, and I bought my first computer there. This time there will be rides and animals and this very famous cream puff, which is going to go straight to my butt and I don't care. I'm getting me one of those. I have heard about them for years. they are supposed to be the best in the world. I don't know about that but you will either Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Ok back to the lake and the reflection. I saw this opportunity from a block away . So we wandered over to the lake and I got down on one knee ( I didn't propose ) and looked across the water for a bit. Then I noticed some clouds moving in and waited a few minutes. Aha, I was ready! I got this, ripples, reflections on the water and incredible clouds. Please enjoy this view. The lake is really really long. Map Montello WI and check it out, Better yet here is the link :

This was a memorable day, Cheri got lots of great shots of the falls, and afterward we headed to the lake. About a good thirty feet from the shore out, there are so many weeds growing and algae floating about making it seem rather unappealing. This actually looks inviting, I have to be honest, I really didn't see the clouds reflection on the water that day, as captured here. She certainly has a keen eye, and managed to grab this beyond a lot of the lake scum. It was about a half an hour after this was taken that we saw the turtle crossing the road into traffic. I am sooo looking forward to this weekend, I haven't been to the State fair since the mid seventies, even longer for mom, and never for either Cherie or her son, who'll be tagging along. This will be a great way to keep mom occupied, Saturday would've been my brother Toms birthday.....he's been gone for over five years now, but that's a unhealing wound for mom, birthdays and other important holidays are always hard for her. I'm having a cream puff too, I've been accused of not having a butt, so eating one might actually do me some good!!

Beautiful picture,I always loved Wisconsin.When I was in high school you could go to Lake Geneva and drink beer at the tender age of 18.I went kayaking and camping up at Devil's Lake such beauty all over the state.Thanks for the pictures and memories Wisconsin.

Oh Cheri, I want a cream puff!!!! Hope you all enjoy the State Fair, would love to be going too, (is it like the musical film, cattle, pigs, horses etc) hope Daves mum has a good time at such a sad time. Love the pic, you sure have an eye for a good scene to photograph.

outstanding landscape. the Texas fair starts soon in Dallas and I probably will not go.it is the longest running fair in the US at 4 or 5 weeks
