Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Lots of geometry. I just squeaked through that in high school but here it is very appealing.

Stellar lighting and textural effects in this shot of a barn ceiling/roof that looks like it's all set to collapse and crumble into teeny particles, M!

like that you b&w'd it, and that you caught it with a grain, almost like an etching. This scene lends itself to etching. And with b&w we get to see the pure tones of the shot, and you brought out the lights more so it shines a bit. You know, the owl may come back to you. Yet in some Native American cultures, a quickly appearing owl is considered a sign of wisdom coming to visit & bringing a message. And even if it doesn't come back in body, some tribes consider its visit a milestone, a statement of a turning point or a point of revelation. That's something to chew on, isn't it? Considering the point in your journey in which it appeared? (Some Native Americans would say, you're blessed to have that sighting!) Keep your inner ears open...these are times when the messages are whispering in the air!
