Description
Captured 8/4/09, early on an unusual overcast morning for the month of August, about .25 miles from my semidomesticted dwelling.
Bill had previously requested a headlight/taillight posting, so in recognition of his upcoming surgery on 8/13/09, I felt this an appropriate time to dedicate this collage to him in the hope of a successful operation and speedy recovery.
These lights are from the Nissan Altima 2.5S model -- possibly a hybrid -- probably one of the most beautiful headlight-taillight combinations on the road.
A limited amount of postwork was done on these fotos, just some light, texture and sharpening manipulation, with no filters used.
A full size view really brings out the detail and textures.
My reflection most apparent in the top picture.

Thanks a million Harry for the dedi. If I wasn't the happy owner of a Toyota Camry, I very seriously would look at a Nissan. You could do an advertising spread for Nissan. Super POVs and crisp, well focused images.

First, I'm totally behind you on Bill: We all wish him the very best. May he have a wholly successful operation and a peaceful & whole recovery. All our best to our fine & treasured friend! Second...It's a fine dedi, and you're in the ranks with Andrea on the ever-fascinating & rich world of car lights. I never thought about them until I came to RR—they're amazing phenomena. These are beautifully caught, and your careful postwork is subtle but brings out a number of qualities in them. And the reflections are a 'filter' of their own (real-life PS!): They add all kinds of light & line to them (and I wish we could see your face!!!) You've gone from larger to smaller and ended in the tail light; and your grain nicely softens the already high-gloss sheen of the chrome and of course the lights. In your captures, these almost look like engines! A fascinating view of a day-to-day sight, we can see them in a whole new light (no pun intended). I like the palms in the bottom shot, they're 'lined up' and that's soooooooo not Chicago! Fine upload.
