Description

As the sun goes down On my life There are shadows on my soul From the many things I have done That I wish I could take back They play over and over In my mind Like a slow violin On a sad day The one that really breaks my heart That I just can’t seem to escape Is you The fairy tale That had no happy ending The time in my life Where dreams Never came true Looking back I see a 1,000 things I should have done Isn't it so sad You always seem to know what’s best When its to late

Always...the right opportunity usually comes at the wrong time. The time that comes is usually never right no matter the opportunity. We can always find a reason for what we did, but never a reason for why we didn't...life happens while were making other plans and it is not always the life we had foreseen, that we were hoping for. Not everything that happens is bad, then again, not always good. I am not sure if the bad is there for lessons to be learned or just to piss us off and make things hard...but with the right amount of determination and that stubborn streak that runs through my blood we seem to make it to the next day...awesome words here Randy...:-) Oh, and BEAUTIFUL image! :-)

Your poem brought to mind lyrics by the Moody Blues; 'so much time to make-up, everywhere you turn, time we have wasted on the way.' Its a lovely image, but whether its a setting sun or one raising on a new day is for you to decide.

Imagine that you are about to embark on a long and difficult journey but are told that at the end of that journey you will find a great and magnificent treasure. You begin your path. Along the way you spot a small sparkling gem and pick it up, marveling at its beauty before discarding it, thinking of the greater treasure you will have at the end. As you walk the long, difficult, and sometimes painful road you spot more and more of these gems. You choose to ignore them as you focus on the reward at the end. Ultimately you reach your destination and are shocked and dismayed to realise there is NO treasure awaiting you. It is only then that you realise that if you had kept all the gems that you had encountered along the way you would, indeed, have a great fortune by now. You realise that you cannot return down the path you have walked and are left with nothing... The road we walk can be difficult and full of regret but on the journey stop and treasure each joyous moment and keep it with you always. Even as the sun sets isn't to late to cherish what still remains. And how beautiful and fleeting a thing is a sun set? Enjoy it. *** I do apologise, I seem to have gotten carried away there! Forgive me if I went on a bit!

Quote: "Isn't it so sad, You always seem to know what's best, When its to late." This is the main reason I love writing. When our thoughts are written down, we get to examine them and see how riduculous some of them are. "Laughs." Question, how do you "KNOW" anything if it is to late?
