Description

The GSS Bernard Reimann, after finally rescueing their crew on Dahlhaus, have moved off towards Gliese 581c after detecting a metallic object in orbit there. Gliese 581c is a more Earth like world than 581e, but is 6.1 Earth masses and 2.21 times the radius of Earth. It possess a moon slightly smaller than Earth's Moon and of an orange color. The object in orbit would later turn out to be a space elevator. While dating is impossible the cratering on its surface and the lack of any structures on the planet indicate it has been in orbit for a very long time. The crew find no sign of any life, living or dead, on the elevator. They surmise that the inhabitants of the planet were crab-like from the structure of the doors and remainng equipment. Gliese 581c has been given the name Big B'Eartha by a drunken crew member, which unfortunately stuck.

HUH! Wouldn't you know it, it is "their moon" that's made of cheese. Love the perspective. Good story line.
