Description

Captured 8/15/09, around 10:45 AM, at the beautiful Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in beautiful San Marino, California. Lots more information in my yesterday's posting. Much better viewed full size. I like the lighting effects and reflectivity in these shots. These handsome waterfowl, apparently accustomed to visitors, were not intimidated by my presence, and did not shy away from me at all. Hence, no ninja-sneaking-up necessary on my part. In fact, the guy on the left in the second foto, on emerging from the pond, was nibbling away and getting a taste of my left shoe. Toodles, and tallyho.

zowie, this is beautiful! A cornucopia of motion and energy and beautiful full-plumage and water that seems to be singing with the birds. They're all pairings, and each has different character: Top, they're going the same way (and nice light on the water); but then the next, one's peeking off the frame (I love that you left that in, didn't try to edit out the cutoff at the beak: He really does look like he's checking you out! Love that shot). And the third, you have 2 opposite directions, and the water & ground is beautifully captured; and the fourth, a beautiful 'portrait', though his friend snuck in at the bottom (lol). The detail in 4 is beautiful. And you also go from lit water down to almost none. (That's your montage-sense!) This is scintillating & beautiful; and full-view, it's even moreso. Beautiful montage, and beautiful pics in their own right.

Such beautiful shots, Harry. The water is so clear and seems to enhance the patterns on the duck feathers. Every shot is just great. The top one shows off the profiles and the bottom one just gets up close and comfy. I love them!

Excelent ripple patterns and a full sun give a warm tone for this collage. Good job Harry.

I love these lady mallards...always on the lookout in case of a stray crumb or three! They seem to be smiling most beguilingly, as if they could charm you out of your lunch. Nice captures of your close encounters of the fowl kind!

Seeing that your current post was a #2, I went looking for #1. This is a great ducky collage too! I love the detail and shadow in the last picture. And the lady poking her head in at the corner!
