Wow! I love the colors and lighting in this. It glows like neon. It has so much depth and movement and the textures are so wonderfully contrasted. Gorgeous work. I wish you well with your family.

Mark you did one heck of a outstanding job in breathing life into this one and showing us the true look and feel of an August day for you. It's like you can almost feel the afternoon drawing to a close and evening ready to set in. It also feels like this was done with thoughts on the big city and my guess might be Chicago since I know that area has meaning for you. So sorry you have to go and please be safe on your trip.

Marvellous feelings of heat and strong light, and like Magnus above I can see a busy evening approaching!

This is wonderful. I kayaked down a river yesterday and this makes me think of our day. The red of the sun mostly because it was hot. Little splashes of green and blue for the water and the trees, all swirling together. Take care of yourself this week, my friend.

Gorgeous colors and effects in this stellar abstract of the long hair of a gorgeous brunette, being cut and falling to the glossy tiled floor of a neon-lit, go-go hair salon, Mark!

Oh wow... this is very, very pleasing to the eye and heart. I'll tell ya what...Jack Frost got sick of the cold. He got a promotion and now he does rich peoples side-light windows in GOLD DUST!! This is so amazing. I even see a man's face in the gold, right where the brassy swirl meets the horizontal swipe. Holy Cow, Mark. Do you dream in color or what?!? A fave to be sure. Hurry back if you can!

this is mark, i swear! if that image would be in a show around here nearby me, without your name, i would have told everybody 'this is a mark', well, not a 'marc', but a 'mark' :) your playing with colours like others experience an explosion i think, and have thought before. so, as you, here and there, enjoying life, have some time, now and then, being here and being there. thats the way it is, but you know about this game enough on your own. it was so nice to hop in here again for a few minutes and to see some old good friends again, and so, my dear mark, i hope you are fine and i promise to be back anytime later again, whenever life allows :) you be creative and ... liberte tojours :)

Wild and wonderful Autumn piece. At the Hollow, August is beginning to look like this. Golden leaves falling like snow, splashes of red here and there on the maples, chipmunks ever so busy stocking their larders against a cold long winter. Blood sucking bugs frantically trying to get the last bites in so they can go lay there eggs for next year's blood sucking mosquitos, black flies, deer flies, etc. I see all that frantic activity .. and the peace that autumn brings as the season is beginning to wind down to winter cold, and the long sleep. It's all here .. in the soft calm undercurrent of the background, and the wild bright flights of leaves on the wind, scurrying critters, and yes, even the biting winged little things, in the foreground.

I thought a cold, rainy January evening, the perfect time to experience "the quiet pleasures of an August afternoon" I custom re-sized this on my screen to 35%, so that I could see it in its entirety. What wonderful motion and enjoyment of life resides in this image! Once again, I am reminded of a quote. I don't remember it exactly, but remember the feeling it left with me. It is a quote of Churchill's and he was talking about his timidity when beginning a new painting and how the blank canvas intimidated him. As he stood putting timid little dabs of paint on to his canvas, a friend and fellow painter, took a large brush and slashed across the canvas in one bold motion. She then told him that it was now messed up, not to worry about it and to get on with it. When I think of that bold movement of paint across his canvas, I think of living life fully, without fear and trepidation. That is what I see in this image of yours, colors, strong and sharply contrasting and the fluid, free brushstrokes of a life lived to the fullest and without fear. Excellent image to have on the wall, to look at when troubles sap the spirit.
