Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Too many people like that these days... It's a good question, and I find myself asking that often.

Are you referring to just anyone, or to your contacts on Renderosity? Well, to put it directly on the line, my conscience is completely clear in this matter, because I have never made any deal vis-a-vis a tryst with you, neither covert or overt, at least not yet that is. Maybe later. Action speaks louder than words. Not much fun to be stiffed. Oh, yes, love the Kon Tiki image.

The "deal" is that, in today’s world, the only things that people are fateful to – is themselves. It is a sad testimonial to today’s society, when you can count your true, trusted friends on your fingers. This is very well written and powerful. :>( Dana

yes I know what you're writing about. Well written & stated very succinctly & with your usual brief power. And the image is a kind of primal angry face making it known that the person who's being spoken to is not amused. Solid expression of what you're conveying, Marilyn. And stated powerfully & directly.

I'm a bit late in reading this, but a part of that is because I'm asking the same question, only a bit more rudely. I think I put it as: "Holy frak, did you go to school to learn to be so frakkin' stupid?" Only the word "frak" is a censor-safe version of the actual word I used. I honestly think that 90% of humanity is little more than a waste of resources and would be better off reduced to their constituent proteins that would be used to feed the hungry. I agree with Mark, your words and image are so succint and to the point in a kind of 21st Century no-nonsense bluntness that never sinks into crassness. That's a treacherous tightrope to walk, while writing, because you write about a crass person, and at times, the only appropriate response to them is a fart in their general direction...crass indeed, but that's why this piece works so well; it's the exact opposite of what it confronts. Well done!!!! In terms of the question this raises in the end, I think the answer is the simple: "What's the deal?" The answer is as plain as day. "People like that are allowed to do what they do, becuause everyone else is too busy following social law, and not killing them outright. **And as an aside note, there's a scene in the Stargate GG-1 series that I really love...the mysterious alien guy who is a part of the good-guy's team looks at prick of the week and simply says: "If we were on my world, I would be perfectly within my rights to disembowl you where you stand." I wish we were on that world! Things might not be easier, but they'd be so much more efficient!
