Description

I got a thing about lighthouses. Last weekend Dave took me out For a walk along Oaks Trail. He figured I would get to see the lighthouse which would be a bonus. When we got out on the break water this house stood in it's stead. The lighthouse was missing. After investigating a little I found out that the city in their infinite wisdom had sold the land to a private owner who did not want to maintain the lighthouse. Our city council is not the brightest group. I think they ate lead paint chips as children. The new owners gave the city the choice to move it or they would tear it down. Well it was moved to Asylum Pointe and there is a picture of this lighthouse here at Rendo http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1907986&member in Dave's gallery. Ok case closed. Thanks for looking and letting me ramble on a bit. Thank you for all the positive vibes, love and prayers you are sending my way. Thanks for all the love, I feel it all. I love you all back. Peace, Cheri

Definite shame about the lighthouse! At least the house they put up blends in well with its environment.

I'm glad that it was moved and not destroyed. Odd that I had seen the light house I posted, here in this spot dozens of times and didn't realize that mine was THE one that used to be here! It looks so different from what I remember. I can't imagine what the property or this immense house is worth. I wonder if the owners are aware of the way the ice shoves, come early spring. If not, I'm sure that it won't take them too long to find out. I think they built way too close to the shore. The light house used to stand right about where the stone stairway and porch is, on the right. Thank you all for keeping Cheri in your thoughts and prayers. I love this family!!

I'm glad that the lighthouse was moved and not destroyed. It gives me hope that city councils can actually function. I suspect that far too many city council members did consume lead paint chips as children. It just seems to be a city-council requirement. The colors in this are nice; it looks warm and summery, or at least springy...summery and springy...are those words? Well, I guess they are now, since I just used them. This is a great shot.

You don't want to know what I think of people who move lighthouses and build private homes instead. What WERE they thinking??

It is still a pretty cool house, although it may not do too well in a storm. Oh yeah the green paint chips taste the best.....lol

It's a shame about the lighthouse... always to our great dismay when it's not what we hoped or expected for, but nevertheless a superb capture and I especially love that stunning tree as it stands so alive and so beautiful within the environment! Excellent capture!
