I like the new avatar, it is always a treat to see who is behind the art. Your City Looks good, but with such a FAR OUT name like Sci Fi City, I think some more detail is warranted.... would love to see such things as doors... a City sign would be super... Welcome to Sci Fi City...

Very cool and generous. I'm envious of your modeling ability. That's my next hurdle (eventually). Well done and I'm sure all the material zones will be much appreciated by those who texture. Love the avatar. It's fun to see your lovely smiling face. : )

Very cool!

Very well thought out, polygon placement is symmetric, should work quite well. How does it render in other packages? I'm never too old to learn something...;) keep it up....

I like Cathy's remarks because they give insight into what this involves. To a complete novice in digital architectural rendering, I only see the design & it seems seamless and 'right': I have no idea what it involves. But I did study architecture (as art that is, ie I didn't study to be an architect) so I did old fashioned rendering just to get a feel for it; and that & that alone allows me to appreciate what your renders involve. (Some architects were superb artists too—or had superb artists in their hire, as Frank Lloyd Wright did [and if you haven't seen his facade & landscape renders, they're a must, especially from the early Prairie period: The woman who was often responsible for them deserved an award for her superior work, which no doubt Wright didn't acknowledge]. They produced architectural drawings which were beautiful works of art.) I assume your angle here isn't easy to get, at least with total accuracy to each "wing" of your structure. But you chose a fine angle, not head on or symmetric, but one which reveals different characteristics of the whole in a single 'shot'. The concept itself is fascinating because, with the 4-pronged structure (each identical to the other), you have these auxiliary structures which have their own character & purpose, and which peak our curiosity as any good fantasy city/complex should. And of course your constant sense of architectural 'trueness' comes forward here, as you don't create structures that could only exist in the mind (ie, impossible, structurally). People who don't do these renders might wonder why they sometimes have simple palettes (b&w & grays here); but these are often templates/initial concepts; and there's something clean & crystalline about these renders where shape, value (light/dark) & sheer proportion are the thing. The central tower is in harmony with its prongs, jutting-out where the prongs move out. And it's a fascinating city. I've looked up both your sitename and your name for "free stuff" but as of the end of August, I didn't find it yet. I'll keep checking. Not that I do anything like this, but who knows: I've loved architecture for so long, why not? One of your city-scapes could be fodder for one of my utterly unarchitectural pieces. I'll let you know! Complex & fascinating piece, as always.
