Description

Chicago is full of gorgeous architectural details. I could spend a week here just walking up and down the streets, taking photographs of every building I see. This is sort of north of the city and west of the lake ... but I couldn't tell you just where! This has been a wonderful trip, and I hate to leave, but we fly out in the morning. I'll be subjecting you to Chicago shots for a while to come! That's the nice thing about photography. The trip might be over, but I'll be enjoying it for a long time to come!

Fantastic shot! Neat looking doorway! There's something about verdigris and polished wood that makes anything look elegant! Excellent!

This is such an appealing entrance..........it's friendly and seems both warm and hospitable. Lovely shot.

Wow!! Didn't see this today, I'm pretty sure of it. We made it back safe and sound. The drive back was a lot less hectic than the one down. It was especially great to share the day with a gaggle of fellow loons. I personally had a great time, and really enjoyed the tons of laughs. I'm wondering what might have been going through my moms mind the whole day. If nothing else she should find some comfort in knowing her son is not the only one like that. Hope you have a great flight back, and thank you so much for making our weekend so special!

Not only is the doorway elegant, but the lace-patterned stonework tickles my fancy.

And there you are in the reflection. Great looking entryway. A person could walk all over most any city I suppose and do a series just on unusual doorways. This can be a new series for you...I mean doorways alone...Seattle could be next. Gee, to us not there,...it seems like you just arrived:) Never enough time, right?

I agree you could just spend a week there taking photos and I believe never even move from the tip of the iceberg so to speak. There is so much diversity in the architectural differences in even buildings right next to each other, it's just amazing. Chicago has so many different cultures that poured into the city when it was young. All those cultures made so many beautiful foot prints and made Chicago what it is today. Every photographers dream. awesome shot and great lighting. Saturday was totally so much fun.
