Description
I thought me gallery needed some color, thus my choice of upload today. This is a Macaw and I have captured him/her at a bird sanctuary not far from my house last summer. He was sitting right next to me and I was actually a bit wary of that beak pecking at my camera lens!!!

After reading about those beaks, some years back, I decided I would not chance an encounter. I stay well clear of them all - even the ones people say are so tame and loving...I also know how they are like people and can take an instant dislike to something in a heartbeat. And they are better than elephants at never forgetting...and they rarely forgive. :-) Stunning detail and you are a brave girl!

Vivid colors and textures in this simply superlative portrait of the rather morose looking Macaw, Carin! The beak does appear to be somewhat threatening at that.
