Description

Hey ok clbsmiley and auntietk this one is for you guys I uploaded Irfanview and used it to resize this. This is for you guys because last night when I was asking about programs you both suggested this one. I am kind of stoked about this. It let me change the file size and looked like it keep the photo size. Not sure, only been playing with it for ten minutes. Let me know what you think. This is for you too Dave for pointing out the post before I uploaded. Oh yea, I took it in Chicago right by the Artist Cafe. Thank you for all the prayers, lit candles and positive vibes. I am hoping my temporary stalled moment with be over shortly and I will be back on the path to healing. I love you all. Love and peace, Cheri

I'm not sure if I should be happy about this new toy of hers, or very afraid! I think that Cheryl and Tara may have just helped create a monster, Cheri's just chomping at the bit to finally display her photos as she's seen them all along. She's ranting and raving like a kid in a toy store, you people have no idea just what you're in for now!. I can imagine a few reposts, but don't despair, it will be those that looked soooo good before she posted, and then didn't really turn out so good here. I promise that they were really really really well taken, and now you'll get to see what my sweet little ninja can really do. Be prepared for total amazement,.....and probably a lot of her drool too, she does that sometimes. I'm probably going to need to place her computer on it's own circuit just so I can turn it off, when she won't. This is just stinking huge!!!! Zoom in and get lost scrolling around to see all of it, and nothing grainy about it either!!! WOW!!!

I've been using Irfanview for along time--it's great, glad you found it. And it worked really well here, I remember this one for sure.

well! You posted while I was commenting on everything else...Ok, I'm not a photographer, so I don't know anything about Irfanview; but apparently it allows you to capture things as you see them, right? (Moreso than without?) What I do know is that it's quite a shot, and zoomed it's truly commanding. I know the building, but not by name; but good photography will make a familiar sight look new & this looks new to me. (Btw, where did you guys eat saturday night? I'm dying to know! Was it at this "artist cafe"? I don't remember going there when I was with you...) It's a symmetric shot, and symmetry can be difficult because it just takes over everything; but your sweep & your capture of the dominating facade just take over the symmetry & make it work for you. Full size this thing's formidable, a fine shot of a sweeping high rise. And it reminds many of us what "high rise" meant long before the steel-glass box took over. Not that there isn't beauty in the steel-glass box—just that this old thing soars with mainly masonry. If anyone's reading this: Listen to Dave! Zoom! It's not grainy, it's just plain soaring. Beautiful work Cheri. And again, all my greatest wishes & prayers for your health-saga. May the insurance come through swiftly!

LOL! Look at you, with the 3000x2300 pic! :D And it looks fabulous - just the thing you've been waiting for. Glad I could help! That cafe was so much fun, and the coffee was wonderful. Exactly what I needed after all that walking! You didn't go downstairs, did you? That was quite an experience! :P I love this shot! When I look at this, there's not a doubt in my mind how Chicago got the nickname of "City of Big Shoulders." Excellent work!

Cheri OK you made mega picture!!! LOL but even with my 22 in monitor the pic is bigger than my screen. So I make mine a little smaller so they make good desktop pictures without resizing again.. But This is an excellent shot could get right in on those windows.!!!! I am glad it worked for you!!!! You can also resize them by pixels and or inches. Lots of options there... Cool program huh!!

Hey, why wasn't I ever told about Irfanview? Now I'll have to go over all of my postings and resize them! Stellar POV and detail in this fine capture, Cheri! Quite a contrast between that and the modern rectangular buildings that are so prominent in Chicago.

Ooooh! Life sized! Holy Frak, this is a fantastic photo of the building I can't remember the name of, but you should also see it at night, when the top has that cobalt blue light all lit and pretty. I have to say that this is a wonderfully amazing shot and you captured it perfectly! I love the details, the subtle colors and the King-Kong scale realism of it. This is super!

Imposing! Very imposing! Carl Sandberg once called Chicago " the City of big shoulders " and that comment is aptly demonstrated in this great photo. Very nice! Looks almost like it's trying to push you out of the way!
