Description

Thought I would dedicate a couple to Prutzworks. Maybe a two part dedication being a bit out of the norm, but these two posts are like sisters and shouldn’t be separated ~ smile. Figure Martin to like the POV of this and the next post, the subject being Hoodoos perched at the cliff edge and all ~ Lol A full view is recommended on this one. It gets difficult seeing the elevation changes into “Sand Cove” at the very bottom. The contrasting red of the Coyote Buttes in the background really stands out against this mesa. There are a few small tepees on the lower terrace just above “Sand Cove”. Just after the tepees the elevation rises steeply and the slope becomes a marbling of soft sandstone colors that make it look surreal. The elevation that I am standing on in this picture is the same terrace these twin hoodoos sit on. Just love the circular white bases with those sandstone caps having just a touch of pink to them accenting the colorful sandstone in the middle. The two of them are like mini versions of the next tier in the mesa. I know… what a geology geek ~ smile. Next post the POV will be atop that next tier. Thanks for coming along. Kind thanks for the comments and favs on the last image.

Beautiful! North of here, these same colors of rocks show up in Capitol Reef National Park. I think it's called the Land of the Sleeping Rainbow. I like how you got the hoodoos and all the different colors of rock in this one.
