Nice colour texture on the towers. It's a good idea to spend a lot of time on simply colour textures with no displacement. They add to the realism of the scene without huge render time increases. My last planet had no displacements. I'm now bringing displacements back in but with a lot more colour variety. An interesting aim is to try to create colour textures where the function is almost not noticable - just a natural flow of colour variation. I'm into planets that use fractals very obviously but too many renders in this gallery show the functions in a very obvious way. This means too much work that looks the same. Also, just to add here, beware of the colour gradient and creating too many smooth transitions. You get a too smooth effect.
